Natures Express-Bean Chili

I have no idea why I got Chili on a 90 degree day but it was still terrific.  Those folks really aim to please.

The Girl and the Fig

I visited Sonoma, CA this weekend with two sweet friends.  We had a fab dinner at The Girl and the Fig "Country Food with a French Passion".  http://www.thegirlandthefig.com

This was not a vegan restaurant because everything on the menu had cheese or meat.  I asked the waitress if they could put a vegan dish together for me and low and behold the chef whipped this up.

I felt like a rockstar ordering off the menu but I can do that since I'm a rocking the vegan lifestyle.

I think the waitress said this is farro and chickpea puree, and some vegetables?  As you can see I almost dug in without taking the picture.

Here is the dessert a sorbet of raspberry, cucumber and mint..em, em good!

I almost forgot to take a picture of this Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie

It's so good, I started to gobble it down and then I remembered the camera.  I must not have another.  This is from Natures Express in Berkeley

Chick-Un Curry Wrap-Natures Express

Ok...I went back to Nature's Express (My new favorite vegan restaurant).  Here is a picture of my new favorite wrap.  I understand you can get this in a green leaf.  Nope, can't go there just yet..still need the tortilla.

Fresh Choice

I was at the mall tonight to find a garden party dress for this weekend.  It's a horrible process to go to the mall after a long day at work and try on clothes I will only wear once.  It's 8:00 at night and I'm in a mall.  What is a vegan gal to do?  Cinnabon?-No  Hot Dog on a Stick? -No Fish and Chips?-No

Ahhhhh Fresh Choice. (Only on the West Coast, not sure if there is a place like this elsewhere?)
Wow...what a wonderful selection of foods for vegetarians and vegans.

Check out this menu:
http://www.freshchoice.com/monthly-menu  Most of the prepared salads had no mayo, egg or cheese.

I had to walk by the pizza, and sweet desserts.  But interestingly enough I have not had that huge sugar desire that I normally feel.  So, I was able to walk by those things without too much upset.

My New Favorite Restaurant

I did a little research about where to eat in Northern California now that I'm Vegan and all.  In the first week of my quest, I found myself at Natures Express  two times.

I'm excited that it's close to a few of my clients. If I have not been good about bringing my lunch I will end up here.

This place is Delicious (pronounced) D-LISH-US (with lot's of saliva surrounding your tonge as you say it!!)

First things I tried with my clients:

Classic Rewind $5.25 Lentil patty, romaine, tomatoes, onions, pickles, NE  vegan mayo, mustard, and  ketchup
Curried Chik-un  Wrap $6.75 A salad of orange curry Chik-un with apples, walnuts, raisins, celery, grapes (seasonally),mixed greens and cabbage slaw
Air Baked Fries $1.95Classic potato wedges or sweet potato fries
Grilled Mac n’ Cheeze $4.75Rich, creamy, and cheeseless, topped with walnut parm
Back to Your Roots $4.95 Beet, carrot, celery, apple, ginger, lemon

I didn't take any pictures but you get the feel for it from the pictures on their site.

Oh yes, I tried an excellent Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie.  Going to try to forget them...
